The Fickle MistressPresented by Theatre Askew, written by Trav S.D., directed by Elyse Singer (artistic director, Hourglass Group), with OBIE winners Jan Leslie Harding and Everett Quinton, Askew Artistic Director Tim Cusack, Chuck Montgomery, Natalie Paul, Karl O'Brian Williams, and Molly Pope as Adah Issacs Menken.
Adah Isaacs Menken--mix equal parts Elizabeth Taylor, Madonna, Susan Sontag, add one horse = the most famous woman of the 1860s.

Theatre Askew has twice been nominated for the GLAAD Media Award in the Off-Off Broadway category (in 2005 for Bald Diva! and in 2008 for i google myself). In addition, Bald Diva! was named one of the year’s best productions by TheaterMania. Other shows include The Tempest; Bianca Leigh’s solo musical Busted (which began as a workshop presentation at Dixon Place’s HOT Festival); I, Claudius Live; and the world premiere of William M. Hoffman’s Cornbury: The Queen’s Governor.In 2009, Askew became the first outside company ever to be invited to curate Avant Garde Arama at P.S. 122 , and in 2007, co-founders Tim Cusack and Jason Jacobs were named People of the Year by nytheatre.com.
